New slimmer PlayStation 5 could go on sale November 8

Sony recently announced a slimmer version of the PlayStation 5, which will replace the original model this November, three years after the console's debut. Sony revealed that the PS5 Slim (which is what we're calling it, not Sony) will go on sale in the US before eventually making its way to other markets around the globe, but the company failed to mention an exact release date.

PS5 Slim release date set for November 8 as part of Spider-Man 2 bundle

But according to a report from Dealabs Magazine, the date is set for November 10, 2023, for both the disc and digital versions of the PS5 Slim. However, gamers will be able to pick up the PS5 Slim two days earlier as a part of a bundle that includes Marvel's Spider-Man 2. That's Sony's latest exclusive that, coincidentally, releases today and has received glowing reviews, with many touting it as one of the best superhero games ever.

Sony is already offering Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as part of a Limited Edition bundle of the existing PS5 for $559.99, and the same price tag will reportedly accompany the upcoming PS5 Slim bundle. As for those who just want to buy the console, pricing is set at $499.99 for the disc version and $449.99 for the digital edition.

PS5 Slim has a more compact design (duh), more usable storage

The PS5 Slim has a more compact design and is lighter and takes less space than the original model. The design now includes four removable covers with a slit running across the middle; the top portion features a glossy look while the bottom portion gets a matte finish.

The PS5 Slim also comes with 1TB of usable storage (up from 825GB on the original model) and sports two USB-C ports at the front instead of a single USB-C and USB-A ports. As far as performance is concerned, nothing will change as the PS5 Slim has the exact same internals as before.
