Samsung released the November 2023 security update to the Galaxy S20 series last week, but it was limited to Europe and the factory-unlocked models in the US on some networks. Now, the update is arriving for more Galaxy S20 series units across several countries, including the US.
Galaxy S20 gets November 2023 security update in more countries
The 4G LTE versions of devices in the Galaxy S20 series are getting the new security update in New Zealand. It comes with firmware version G98xFXXSIHWJF. In the US, the carrier-locked models of Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are getting the new software update with firmware version G98xUSQS7HWJ1. It is available on Metro PCS and T-Mobile networks in the country. The European models are also getting updated in more countries in the region.
The factory-unlocked Galaxy S20 series units are getting the November 2023 security update with firmware version G98xU1UES7HWJ4. This update is available on all carriers in the US. If you were hoping to see the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update on your Galaxy S20 series phone, it isn't coming, as Android 13 was the last major software update for the series.
If you have a Galaxy S20 series phone in the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it if you have a Windows PC and the Odin software tool.
