Galaxy S21 One UI 6 update makes US debut with Verizon

More Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra owners are beginning to get the One UI 6 (Android 14) update following its initial release a week ago. The update has been rolling out to various countries since then, and today, it's gone live in the USA.

The US was surprisingly the first market to get the stable One UI 6 update for quite a few eligible Galaxy phones, but that wasn't the case for the Galaxy S21 series. The wait for US customers is now coming to an end, at least for Verizon subscribers, though other carrier-locked models and unlocked units probably won't be left on Android 13 for too long.

The One UI 6 update for Verizon's Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra started rolling out today (December 1). It sports a firmware version ending in FWK5 and includes the security fixes from the November 2023 security patch. To download the update, open the Settings app on your phone, select Software update, then tap Download and install. For manually upgrading using a Windows PC, you can download the latest firmware from our archive.

Android 14 and One UI 6 bring a number of improvements and new features, including a redesigned Quick Panel, home screen widgets and more watermark options for the Camera app, enhanced photo and video editing tools, 2-hand drag and drop of content between apps, better notification sorting options, and a lot more that you can learn about in our definitive One UI 6 guide.
