Galaxy Z Flip 5 November 2023 update released in the US

A new software update has been released for Samsung's latest clamshell foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 5. This update brings the latest security patch for Android and One UI, and the USA is the first market to get it.

At the time of this writing, the update, which has a firmware version ending in AWJ7, is available on some carrier variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. But unlocked models probably won't take too long to join the party, nor should the models that are sold in other markets.

As Samsung is currently busy testing Android 14 and One UI 6 for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, it should come as no surprise that the November update for the device doesn't have anything interesting or new to offer. It only enhances the phone's security by fixing five critical and dozens of lower-risk vulnerabilities affecting the Android OS and around a dozen vulnerabilities that exclusively affect Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

If you own a Galaxy Z Flip 5 and live in the US, you can check for the latest update by tapping the Download and install option in the phone's Settings » Software update menu. Our firmware archive is at your disposal and can be used to download firmware for manually flashing to the phone using a Windows PC and a USB-C cable.
