Last night, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. While the company didn't announce Samsung to be among the brands that will use the new chip, it is widely reported that the South Korean firm will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is expected to go official early next year.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 benchmark figures reveal excellent overall performance
Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi 14 series during Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit 2023 event. More Chinese smartphone brands have announced that they will launch phones that use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Now, one of those brands has decided to showcase the performance of their upcoming flagship phone by using some of the popular benchmarks. Those benchmark numbers are now official, and they offer a look at the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's CPU, GPU, AI, and overall performance.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU performance benchmarks
In Geekbench's (6.1) single-core CPU performance test, the chipset scored over 2,320 points. In the multi-core test, it scored over 7,439 points at minimum over three test runs. In AnTuTu (v10), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered phone scored up to 1,400,000 points, while in PCMark (v3.0.40.61), the phone scored over 21,125 points.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 GPU performance benchmarks
When it comes to GPU performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 could run at 32 fps in the 3DMark Wildlife Extreme test over three runs. In 3DMark Wildlife, it scored 115fps over three consecutive runs. In 3DMark Solar Bar, which tests the ray-tracing performance of a device, the phone was able to run it at 33fps.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 AI and web browsing performance benchmarks
Qualcomm also boasted a lot about the AI performance upliftment on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 compared to its predecessor. So, let us look at some AI performance benchmarks. It scored 1,427,613 points in the AITuTu benchmark and 238,479 points in the AIMark test. In web browsing tests, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scored 241 points in JetStream 2, 311 points in Speedometer 2.1, and 310 points in WebXPRT3.
