Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+ global sales kick off today

Samsung has announced that its latest budget Galaxy A series tablets, the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9+, will go on sale around the world starting today. The two tablets were already listed in a couple of markets earlier this month, and they will start reaching more countries in the coming weeks.

The Galaxy Tab A9 duo is meant for those who don't want the more expensive Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9+ FE (or their flagship counterparts) and they have more humble spec sheets as a result. The Tab A9 is the entry-level model and comes with a 60Hz 1340×800-pixel 8.7-inch LCD display. The display is complemented by a stereo speaker setup.

Under the hood, the Tab A9 sports a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset and comes in 4GB+64GB and 8GB+128GB RAM and storage configurations (it also has a microSD slot). For imaging, there's an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. A 5,100 mAh battery keeps the lights on, and connectivity features include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and LTE.

The Galaxy Tab A9+ boasts a 11-inch Full HD+ (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and processing duties are handled by the Snapdragon 695 processor with the same RAM and storage configurations as the Tab A9. It also has quad speakers, 8MP and 5MP rear and front cameras, a 7,040 mAh battery with 15W charging, and 5G connectivity.

Both the Tab A9 and Tab A9+ run Android 13 with Samsung's One UI 5.1.1 overlay. And while there's no support for the S Pen stylus, the Plus model supports Samsung DeX and features like split-screen multitasking with three apps. Samsung doesn't reveal what kind of support the Tab A9 and A9+ will get, but we can assume it will get major OS updates for two years, with Android 14 and One UI 6.0 arriving later this year.

The Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9+ are available in graphite, silver, and navy blue and come in Wi-Fi and LTE/5G variants. Pricing differs by markets, and you can check how much it costs in your country by visiting Samsung's website.
